Focus on scaling multi-billion-parameter training across Cerebras clusters, analyzing convergence and gradient stability, and building tool-use, long-context reasoning, and multi-step planning capabilities.

What you will do
- Discover customer AI use cases, assess feasibility and data readiness, select model architectures, and define milestones, metrics, and evaluation benchmarks.
- Design and execute end-to-end training recipes for custom large language models and other deep learning models.
- Implement continuous pre-training, supervised fine-tuning, and post-training alignment with RLHF or DPO.
- Own data preprocessing, tokenization, hyperparameter tuning, loss-curve analysis, and model convergence investigations.
- Scale multi-billion-parameter training workloads across clusters and optimize hardware utilization.
- Build agentic system components for tool use, long-context reasoning, and multi-step planning while guiding customers and collaborating with internal research and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Expert-level knowledge of dense transformers, mixture-of-experts models, multimodal and sequence models, scaling laws, and training dynamics.
- Proven experience training or fine-tuning large models with 1B+ parameters.
- Mastery of Python and PyTorch, plus experience with distributed training frameworks and large-scale distributed data-processing pipelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including presenting complex technical results to executives and research scientists.
