Test Analyst (QA Testing)

Location: Home-based after a training period in the Bracknell office; candidates must have a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

What you will do

• Test new releases and functionality for Revenues and Benefits applications.
• Review functional requirements for legislative changes, enhancements, and new features.
• Produce accurate test scripts and execute testing against predefined expected results.
• Investigate test failures, determine the causes of software defects, and report results clearly.
• Coordinate testing with Lead Test Analysts, Test Managers, development, and product teams.
• Maintain testing documentation, follow the quality management system, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Council Tax or Non-Domestic Rates collection and administration.
• Knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction payment and calculation.
• Experience writing and executing test scripts for complex applications.
• Ability to interpret complex requirements, investigate failures, perform impact and risk analysis, and identify software defects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, initiative, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Pre-existing UK right to work and travel is required; documentary evidence will be requested.

Nice to have

• Basic SQL skills.
• Understanding of browser and operating-system version impacts on applications.
• Experience working with offshore teams.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
