TL;DR
People Operations Lead (AI): Building and running the end-to-end People function for a fast-growing AI biology startup with an accent on people administration, performance management, compensation, and employee relations. Focus on leading difficult conversations, designing scalable HR initiatives, and coaching managers in a hybrid environment.
Location: Paris / Remote EU; part-time role averaging around three days per week, with occasional additional days during busy periods.

What you will do
- Own contracting, payroll coordination, employee records, and day-to-day People administration.
- Act as the trusted point of contact for People-related questions across the organization.
- Design and run performance reviews, onboarding, probation, employee surveys, company policies, salary grids, and compensation strategy.
- Coach managers through underperformance, exits, and termination processes, working with Legal when needed.
- Identify and develop emerging managers and support their leadership growth.
Requirements
- End-to-end experience owning People or HR operations and making independent judgment calls.
- Direct experience managing underperformance and leading terminations and exits.
- Startup or scale-up experience in a lean, hybrid, fast-moving environment.
- Experience running at least one full compensation and review cycle from start to finish.
- Clear, careful communication and a warm, approachable style for handling sensitive matters.
- Willingness to work hands-on across both operational detail and strategic People initiatives.
