Senior Rust Backend Engineer (Web3)

Building a next-generation decentralized exchange that brings Japanese equities on-chain through secure, transparent, high-performance trading infrastructure for institutional and retail participants.

What you will do

• Own the architecture and technical direction of low-latency HTTP and WebSocket trading APIs.
• Design structured concurrency practices with Tokio, including task lifecycle management, cancellation, backpressure, and graceful degradation.
• Build real-time ingestion pipelines for trades, order updates, book diffs, snapshots, and local state reconstruction.
• Model orders, fills, trades, positions, funding, and liquidation-related data.
• Implement WebSocket upgrades, frame parsing, and data fanout for subscribed clients.
• Improve performance, scalability, fault tolerance, observability, and production stability with system and infrastructure engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience and 3+ years of Rust in production.
• Strong experience with Rust, Tokio, concurrent programming, and structured concurrency.
• Hands-on experience with HTTP and WebSocket frameworks such as Hyper or similar technologies.
• Understanding of CEX/DEX systems, trading models, and entities such as orders, trades, positions, funding, margin, and liquidation logic.
• Experience designing real-time streaming systems, rebuilding state from snapshots and diffs, and handling replay, recovery, and correctness guarantees.
• Production experience with metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.

Nice to have

• Experience with lock-free or lock-avoidant data structures and cache-friendly data layouts.
• Performance profiling and latency optimization for CPU, memory, and real-time event pipelines.
• Familiarity with Docker-based environments and CI/CD pipelines.
