Retail Production Designer (Packaging)

Location: Remote, Canada

Salary: $100,000–$115,000 per year, plus bonus depending on experience

What you will do

• Own technical production for retail and packaging assets, including dielines, print-ready artwork, specifications, and production files.
• Adapt approved concepts across retailers, sizes, formats, SKUs, and technical requirements while resolving production issues before printing.
• Build and maintain templates, specifications, file structures, naming conventions, tracking processes, and other scalable production systems.
• Collaborate with print vendors and production partners on materials, tolerances, printing methods, and technical requirements.
• Support designers and cross-functional stakeholders by answering technical questions, resolving issues, and keeping projects moving.
• Establish quality-control processes and manage high-volume workflows under tight deadlines.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Production Artist, Production Designer, or in a similar packaging, print, retail, or visual merchandising role.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
• Experience managing high-volume production across multiple SKUs, formats, retailers, and versions.
• Strong understanding of print production, layout, typography, spacing, hierarchy, technical file preparation, and color management.
• Exceptional proofreading, quality-control, organization, communication, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with print vendors is valuable; familiarity with flexographic, digital, offset, or lithographic printing is an advantage.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Figma and 3D rendering tools such as SketchUp.
• Experience with flexographic, digital, offset, or lithographic printing.
