Production Designer, Retail & Packaging

Location: Fully remote, with biannual off-sites.

Salary: $100,000–$115,000 per year plus bonus.

What you will do

• Own technical production for retail and packaging, including dielines, print-ready files, and vendor specifications.
• Adapt approved concepts across retailers, formats, sizes, SKUs, and versions while identifying layout issues before printing.
• Build and maintain templates, specifications, file structures, tracking systems, and quality checks.
• Collaborate with print vendors on materials, tolerances, print methods, and production solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to designers and cross-functional partners and drive production projects forward.
• Support retail and direct-to-consumer packaging production as needed.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a production artist in packaging, print, retail, visual merchandising, or a similar field.
• Strong expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
• Experience managing high-volume production across multiple SKUs, formats, retailers, and versions.
• Exceptional proofreading skills and strong attention to alignment, copy, spacing, typography, hierarchy, and structural details.
• Understanding of color management techniques for maintaining consistency during print production.
• Clear communication with designers, vendors, printers, and internal teams, combined with a proactive approach to solving technical problems.

Nice to have

• Experience with Figma and 3D rendering tools such as SketchUp.
• Experience working with print vendors.
• Knowledge of flexographic, digital, offset, or lithographic printing.
