VP, Supply Chain, Operations Excellence & Analytics (Genetics Laboratory)

Location: Remote, United States; ability to work in an office or laboratory setting and travel up to 50% for on-site Kaizen and operational improvement workshops.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end supply chain, including demand planning, inventory, materials management, replenishment, forecasting, and supply-risk management.
• Direct strategic procurement, supplier partnerships, category strategies, contract negotiations, and cost and value optimization.
• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, patient specimen transportation, sample management, turnaround time, and specimen integrity.
• Lead collection-kit assembly, fulfillment, production planning, capacity management, and scalable kitting operations.
• Establish an enterprise-wide Lean continuous-improvement program using value-stream mapping, root-cause analysis, Kaizen, standard work, and process control.
• Build Operations Analytics and business-intelligence capabilities, including KPI frameworks, dashboards, predictive analytics, operating reviews, and data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in Operations and/or Operations Excellence.
• 5+ years in senior leadership roles at Executive Director, VP, or higher level.
• Experience leading multiple operational functions and building high-performing teams across supply chain, procurement, logistics, kitting, and analytics.
• Experience with strategic sourcing, procurement, inventory management, logistics optimization, Lean or Six Sigma initiatives, financial management, and operational analytics.
• Strong communication, negotiation, influencing, executive leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in genetics, molecular diagnostics, clinical laboratories, biotechnology, healthcare, or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience managing biological specimens, laboratory kit assembly, fulfillment, or collection-kit operations.
• Experience implementing or scaling Operations Analytics or business-intelligence functions.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or an advanced degree in a related field.
