VP, Supply Chain, Operations Excellence & Analytics (Genetics)

Location: Remote, United States; ability to work in an office or laboratory setting and travel up to 50% for on-site Kaizen and operational improvement workshops.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end supply chain, materials management, strategic procurement, logistics, specimen management, and collection-kit operations.
• Develop supply-chain strategies covering demand planning, forecasting, inventory, replenishment, supplier resilience, working capital, and operational KPIs.
• Optimize specimen transportation and handling from collection through receipt, accessioning, testing, storage, and disposition.
• Establish an enterprise-wide Lean continuous-improvement program using value-stream mapping, root-cause analysis, Kaizen, standard work, and process control.
• Build an Operations Analytics function with dashboards, performance-management frameworks, predictive and prescriptive analytics, and a consistent source of operational data.
• Build and lead a high-performing, cross-functional organization and partner with Laboratory Operations, Quality, Finance, IT/Data, R&D, Product Development, Legal, and other functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in Operations and/or Operations Excellence, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles at Executive Director, VP, or above level.
• Experience leading multiple operational functions and building high-performing teams.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and supply-chain optimization.
• Demonstrated success with Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, operational analytics, financial management, and complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong communication, negotiation, influencing, executive leadership, quantitative, and financial skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in genetics, molecular diagnostics, clinical laboratories, biotechnology, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience managing biological specimens, laboratory kit assembly, fulfillment, or collection-kit operations.
• Experience implementing or scaling Operations Analytics or business intelligence functions.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience.
• Advanced degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
