What you will do
- Assist with federal, state, local, and Canadian tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
- Support sales/use tax, property tax, and HST/GST compliance activities.
- Prepare reconciliations and documentation for book/tax differences, apportionment, tax adjustments, and audits.
- Research federal, international, and indirect tax issues and summarize findings.
- Maintain exemption certificates, tax logs, calendars, process documentation, and policy updates.
- Collaborate with accounting, accounts payable, IT, Big Four firms, and other external compliance providers.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn and apply new tools and concepts.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and macros.
- Employment-based visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future for this position.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with SAP systems or OneSource tax software.
