HIPAA SME (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. Citizenship is required for T4 Public Trust access.

Salary: $125,000–$135,000 per year, with the final offer dependent on location, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Review HIPAA security and privacy complaints, breach notifications, cybersecurity incident reports, and supporting evidence.
• Evaluate the technical sufficiency of submissions from covered entities and business associates, including security baselines, penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and digital forensics.
• Analyze incidents involving protected health information and develop technical reports, root-cause analyses, findings, and recommendations.
• Document processes, standard operating procedures, system requirements, privacy policies, and security controls.
• Provide expertise on risk analysis, incident response, security architecture, business continuity, disaster recovery, threat intelligence, and security awareness.
• Apply NIST standards, ISO best practices, and HIPAA Security Rule implementation specifications while collaborating with technical and content teams.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the T4 Public Trust level.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information sciences, or a comparable field.
• Experience auditing and generating audit reports.
• Knowledge of computer security procedures, systems and application environments, operating systems, networks, and security protocols.
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems, evaluate emerging technologies, develop recommendations, and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Ten years of relevant cybersecurity experience is preferred; CISSP, CISM, CIPP, or CIPT certification is also preferred.
