Staff Security Engineer, Proactive Security

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada

Salary: $193,800–$285,000 USD annually, plus potential equity grants

What you will do

• Set strategic security roadmaps and own technical direction for the Dasher Logistics vertical.
• Partner with product, engineering, infrastructure, legal, fraud, and security teams to deliver product security outcomes.
• Build security controls and paved paths that embed secure design practices into hirify.global products.
• Perform manual and automated code reviews across APIs, microservices, and mobile applications.
• Conduct application security assessments and manage vulnerabilities from identification through remediation, reporting, and metrics.
• Integrate security tools into CI/CD and develop automated tools and agentic harnesses to improve security efficiency.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a software engineering-oriented Product Security Engineer.
• Expertise in authentication and authorization frameworks, with hands-on experience building secure microservices.
• Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 and similar vulnerabilities, including secure code, architecture, and design analysis.
• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java or Go.
• Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, strategic planning, stakeholder management, and cross-functional communication.
• Experience securing diverse products in large cloud-native production environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with mobile application hardening, application shielding, and threat modeling mobile APIs.
