Senior Application Support Engineer – Linux & Middleware

Location: Porto, Portugal, with a hybrid work model and up to 3 remote days per week. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do

• Provide expert support for critical applications running on Linux and middleware platforms, including Control-M, Apache, JBoss, Tomcat, and IIS.
• Maintain the stability, security, and performance of production environments while managing incidents and changes.
• Automate workflows and standardize application processes to improve operational efficiency.
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps in line with governance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement, security, and DevSecOps initiatives.
• Participate in on-call support and application lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience supporting production applications in Linux and middleware environments.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, Control-M or similar schedulers, Apache, JBoss, Tomcat, and IIS.
• Understanding of architecture, network protocols, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and security best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and an autonomous, rigorous, team-oriented approach.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Existing legal right to work in the European Union.

Nice to have

• Experience with automation tools, scripting, or similar technologies.
• Certifications in Linux, middleware, or security.
