Senior Java Developer – Spring Boot and Kafka Expert (Java/Spring Boot/Kafka)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid work with up to 2 days remote per week. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do

• Maintain and enhance complex enterprise application suites.
• Develop reliable, high-quality Java solutions following engineering best practices.
• Work with Application Managers, Project Managers, and Solution Teams to define requirements and implement solutions.
• Use Kafka, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Unix environments in application development.
• Participate in Agile delivery, code reviews, testing, and deployment.
• Prepare technical documentation and specifications and coordinate with external standards authorities.

Requirements

• More than 4 years of Java development experience, including Java 8+ and Spring frameworks.
• Strong expertise in Kafka, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch.
• Experience with Unix/Linux systems.
• Knowledge of Angular, Apache, Tomcat, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with GitLab, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD practices.
• Fluent, clear communicative English and an existing legal right to work in the European Union are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms or microservices architecture.
• Certifications in Java, Spring, or DevOps practices.
