TL;DR
Senior Test Automation Engineer – QA and Development (Java/QA Automation): Designing and maintaining reusable UI, API, and mobile test automation frameworks with an accent on CI/CD integration, test reporting, and privacy-by-design. Focus on debugging Java-based automation, improving pipeline reliability, and guiding quality practices across high-impact software projects.
Location: Lisbon, Portugal, with a hybrid work model allowing up to 2 remote days per week. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do
- Design and maintain reusable page-object, service-object, and data-driven automation frameworks.
- Develop and execute UI, API, mobile, manual, and automated tests with privacy-by-design principles.
- Integrate test suites into Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD pipelines and monitor pipeline health.
- Produce test status reports, dashboards, KPIs, and business-facing technical updates.
- Investigate defects and failing scripts or pipeline steps by debugging Java code.
- Review automation code, support utility development, and mentor team members.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in test automation or a related field.
- Strong Java programming and debugging skills.
- Experience with Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber/BDD, Rest Assured, Postman, Karate, and Appium.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Knowledge of Jira/Xray, test management, KPI definition, and defect traceability.
- Communicative English and an existing legal right to work in the European Union are required.
Nice to have
- Banking or wealth management domain experience.
- French language skills.
