Lead Installation Technician (Access Control/CCTV)

TL;DR

Lead Installation Technician (Access Control/CCTV): Leading and performing installation of access control, CCTV, intercom, and related security systems on complex commercial and construction projects with an accent on field supervision, system troubleshooting, and schedule ownership. Focus on interpreting technical drawings, coordinating contractors and clients, making independent onsite decisions, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Location: Onsite in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, USA, with regular work at construction and client sites. Travel may be required; an active passport or the ability to obtain one is required.

What you will do

• Lead and oversee installation technicians while performing hands-on installation work.
• Install, terminate, configure, test, and troubleshoot access control, CCTV, intercom, IP cameras, racks, enclosures, and related devices.
• Interpret project drawings, matrices, BOMs, and DIV28 specifications to deliver complex systems.
• Own assigned schedules, prioritize work, track materials, and escalate delays, missing equipment, and project issues.
• Coordinate daily with project managers, site supervisors, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Maintain project records, inventories, site readiness documents, RFIs, redlines, and work progress in OneNote.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of recent hands-on experience installing access control and video surveillance systems in large-scale commercial environments.
• Experience supervising, training, and coaching installation technicians.
• Strong knowledge of ACS, CCTV, intercom, IP cameras, network interfaces, electric locking hardware, and mechanical retrofitting.
• Experience with systems such as Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Honeywell, Software House, Bosch, or DMP.
• Ability to read drawings, matrices, BOM lists, SRDs, RFIs, redlines, and hazard-analysis documents, and proficiency with Teams, Outlook, OneNote, Bluebeam, and Adobe Reader.
• Clean criminal record, eligibility to hold a local security clearance or registration, and a clean driving record are required. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, use ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 40 pounds.
