Software Development Engineer - Security Automation, AWS Security Epoxy (AWS Security)

What you will do

• Design and deliver features for AWS Security Epoxy automation services supporting threat detection, risk remediation, and incident response across AWS accounts.
• Build and operate scalable foundational services for communications, workflow orchestration, data enrichment, and secure access.
• Own operational excellence by adding instrumentation and alarms, reducing manual toil through automation, and maintaining clear runbooks.
• Participate in the on-call rotation, resolve high-severity incidents, and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurrence.
• Improve system resiliency, scalability, safety, and maintainability through design reviews, code reviews, operational readiness reviews, and post-incident analysis.
• Mentor newer engineers and interns and collaborate with partner detection and response teams.

Requirements

• EU Member State nationality is required.
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 2 years of experience designing or architecting systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Programming experience with Java, Python, or TypeScript.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong software engineering practices, including testing, code reviews, source control, operations, and production system ownership.

Nice to have

• Experience with scalable, highly available production systems and operational excellence.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and AWS cloud technologies.
• Experience prototyping systems and solutions quickly.
• Familiarity with security automation, threat detection, or incident response tooling.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
