Senior Software Engineer - C Programmer (C/data integration): Building and improving a high-performance extract-load-transform data integration system that enables reliable implementation of hundreds of data connectors with minimal maintenance, with an accent on systems design, relational semantics, and software performance. Focus on designing abstractions, managing complex data representations, and evolving production systems across the full software lifecycle.

Location: Based out of the Novi Sad office, Serbia, with a hybrid work model combining remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.

What you will do

• Learn the product deeply and identify practical improvements to its technical foundation.
• Contribute to roadmap development and planning.
• Work with the core engineering team and broader stakeholders across requirements, design, prototyping, implementation, review, release, and monitoring.
• Design, implement, and iterate on high-performance data integration systems in production.
• Review and approve pull requests while maintaining ownership of product quality.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience designing and coding effective, intuitive, maintainable software systems.
• Strong C programming skills and experience with modern and legacy development environments.
• Experience with cloud services, network protocols, serialization, and relational databases.
• Knowledge of complex data structures, object-oriented programming, exceptions, and memory management.
• Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions, collect input, build consensus, and execute in high-impact environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with data replication, ETL/ELT tools, APIs, analytics, or software-defined infrastructure.
• Knowledge of DBMS internals.
• Familiarity with encoding, network communication internals, process and memory management, and inter-process communication.
• Experience with AWS CloudFormation, Kubernetes, or Docker.
