Senior Software Engineer - Core Databases (C/Python/Data Integration): Building and evolving a high-performance extract-load-transform data integration system that powers hundreds of data connectors with an accent on relational semantics, data representation, and software performance. Focus on designing practical abstractions, solving complex systems and database challenges, and improving production software across the full development lifecycle.

Location: Based out of the Novi Sad office, Serbia, with a hybrid work model combining remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.

What you will do

• Design and implement improvements to the core data integration platform.
• Work across requirements, architecture, prototyping, implementation, code review, release, and production monitoring.
• Help shape and plan the technical roadmap.
• Collaborate with the core engineering team and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Review and approve pull requests while maintaining product ownership and quality.

Requirements

• Experience designing and implementing effective, intuitive, maintainable software systems.
• Experience working with cloud services, network protocols, serialization, and relational databases.
• Knowledge of complex data structures, object-oriented programming, exceptions, and memory management.
• Productivity with modern and legacy software development environments.
• Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions, gather input, build consensus, and iterate on production systems.
• Experience with C, Python testing, relational databases, and development tools such as Git and Make.

Nice to have

• Experience with data replication, ETL/ELT tools, API technologies, analytics, or software-defined infrastructure.
• Knowledge of DBMS internals and low-level encoding or network communication concepts.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS CloudFormation, or system-level programming.
