What you will do

• Support and administer high-load PostgreSQL databases handling approximately 20,000 transactions per minute.
• Perform and maintain zero-downtime database migrations.
• Identify and resolve database issues, performance bottlenecks, and incidents.
• Collaborate with development teams on database architecture, schema design, and query optimization.
• Configure and maintain PostgreSQL infrastructure in AWS using RDS, Aurora, and Terraform.
• Proactively identify improvement opportunities and contribute to database-related projects and services.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or data engineering.
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge, including query optimization, indexing, replication, and performance troubleshooting.
• Experience with large-scale data systems, ETL pipelines, or distributed backend systems.
• Solid understanding of SQL performance tuning, schema design, and transaction management.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, monitoring tools, and automation scripting.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Aurora, RDS, Redshift, Kafka, and Debezium connectors.
• Experience in regulated financial technology environments.
