Software Fraud Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and develop fraud detection systems for payments, wallets, authentication, and user activity.
• Build real-time fraud pipelines, event-processing systems, scalable backend services, and APIs for risk evaluation.
• Develop fraud rules, velocity controls, dynamic risk scoring, and decision engines for transaction approval, review, or rejection.
• Analyze behavioral, transactional, device, and identity signals to detect account takeover, payment fraud, bonus abuse, and multi-accounting.
• Optimize detection accuracy, minimize false positives, and improve real-time decision latency.
• Create investigation and monitoring tools while collaborating with Product, Payments, Data, Platform, Fraud, Support, and Compliance teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development experience with Go, Java, Kotlin, Python, or similar technologies.
• Experience building fraud prevention, risk, payment, banking, fintech, or security systems.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, real-time decision engines, large datasets, and strong SQL.
• Understanding of payment flows, authentication, transactional systems, and fraud detection machine learning models.
• Fluent English required; worldwide availability with remote or hybrid work.

Nice to have

• Experience in crypto, Web3, or blockchain.
• Experience with Kafka, ClickHouse, Redis, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of AML, KYC, or payment risk systems.
• Experience with device fingerprinting, behavioral analytics, or identity verification.
