Senior Backend Engineer (Go)

Location: Nicosia, Cyprus; office-based four days per week with one remote day

What you will do

• Write high-quality, performant backend code primarily in Go.
• Implement new microservices and responsibly migrate away from legacy services.
• Translate product requirements into concrete technical designs with product managers, designers, and data scientists.
• Optimize systems for latency, reliability, and responsiveness under heavy load.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable backend services.
• Experience with Go or strong engineering fundamentals in another language such as Python, C++, or Ruby.
• In-depth knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Upper-Intermediate English (B2) or higher, with the ability to discuss technical trade-offs.

Nice to have

• Experience with gRPC, Thrift, AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
