Senior MM/SD SAP Consultant

Location: Tokyo, Japan; remote work from anywhere in Japan is available when the client project allows it. A temporary office is available in Shinbashi, and occasional work from a preferred global location may be possible for up to 25 days with client permission. Willingness to travel is required.

What you will do

• Act as the primary link between business users and SAP functional teams for MM and SD processes.
• Map business processes and align them with global standards and SAP best practices.
• Lead workshops and requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications for implementation teams.
• Support system testing, data validation, cutover, training materials, and change management.
• Ensure compliant, traceable MM/SD processes and integration with upstream and downstream functions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP experience, including MM, SD, AR, and MDM, with at least two full-cycle implementations.
• Strong knowledge of materials management, inventory control, purchasing, invoice verification, material valuation, and logistics processes.
• Configuration experience with SAP MM and understanding of integration with SD, PP, WM, and FI.
• Experience with compliance and validation in GxP-regulated environments.
• Strong written and verbal Japanese at JLPT N2 level and English communication skills are required.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills, adaptability, and willingness to travel.

• Experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, healthcare, food, or consulting.
