Security Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Australia-focused role responsible for AUS-hours coverage.

hirify.global develops a cloud security platform that uses runtime context and eBPF-powered sensors to prioritize risks, protect cloud infrastructure, and provide integrated posture, threat, and API security.

What you will do

• Fine-tune detection and response mechanisms for the cloud security platform.
• Conduct proactive customer environment reviews, identify exposed attack surfaces, and recommend improvements.
• Lead investigations into supply-chain, API, malware, and runtime attacks, documenting findings and creating response playbooks.
• Handle complex and critical incidents escalated from Tier 1 and Tier 2, including live customer engagements.
• Collaborate with analysts, researchers, and backend engineers to improve detection quality.
• Translate security findings into clear recommendations during recurring customer meetings and contribute to AI-driven detection models.

Requirements

• Hands-on cybersecurity experience in cloud or cloud security environments.
• Strong knowledge of detection engineering, incident response, and threat analysis.
• Practical experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Hands-on Linux experience, plus networking fundamentals and Python or Bash scripting.
• Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills, including composure during high-pressure discussions.
• Availability for a shared on-call rotation covering nights, weekends, or holidays during the assigned week.

• Windows experience.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or Information Security.
