TL;DR
Senior Engineering Manager (AI/ML): Leading the development of in-house machine learning platforms, AI agents, and client-facing predictive features for water utilities with an accent on scalable architecture, MLOps, and cloud engineering. Focus on building production ML systems, guiding teams of AI/ML engineers, and solving complex infrastructure and reliability challenges.
Location: Fully remote, based in Athens, Greece

What you will do
- Lead the technical direction for in-house machine learning and AI agent development.
- Build and evolve ML platforms and MLOps capabilities that support reliable delivery.
- Develop client-facing features powered by machine learning and AI models.
- Manage a team of 5–10 engineers and AI/ML developers across hiring, coaching, development, and performance management.
- Make scalable architectural and code-level design decisions across Python, cloud, and backend systems.
- Collaborate directly with the CTO, CEO, customers, and engineering teams while leading initiatives spanning multiple quarters.
Requirements
- Track record of building and owning production machine learning systems end to end.
- Experience managing 5–10 engineers or AI/ML developers through the full employee lifecycle.
- Strong architectural skills, including Python ML stacks, ReAct loops, and scalable code-level design.
- Hands-on backend engineering experience in the cloud, especially AWS.
- Experience with core CI/CD practices.
- Advanced degree in computer science, physics, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
