Threat Researcher II (Cybersecurity)

Developing an AI-native cybersecurity platform that protects organizations by detecting and preventing breaches at large scale.

What you will do

• Research emerging malware and cyber threats across the adversary kill chain.
• Reverse engineer threats, analyze behavior, and distinguish genuine attacks from background noise using internal and external data.
• Validate Falcon’s detection coverage, identify gaps, and recommend detection and prevention improvements.
• Analyze external security testing and certification results and help address missed detections.
• Collaborate with Threat Research, Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Red Team teams to turn research into production capabilities.
• Design automation and communicate technical findings to accelerate threat analysis and response.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in threat research focused on malware analysis.
• Experience reverse engineering file-based malware, exploits, and other attack techniques.
• Strong understanding of disassembly, structured programming, attacker behavior, and the adversary kill chain.
• Deep knowledge of at least one major operating system and its internals.
• Ability to develop scripting or automation projects and collaborate with engineering teams on production security capabilities.

Nice to have

• GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification.
• Experience with AV-Test, AV-Comparatives, or SE Labs security testing programs.
• Experience working with large datasets and Splunk, Elasticsearch, or Kibana.
• Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making and workflows.
