Staff Cybersecurity Software Engineer

Salary: $160,200–$246,300 base salary, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate security-focused software components, services, APIs, and internal platforms.
• Develop automation and secure-by-default patterns for identity, authorization, secrets management, logging, and policy evaluation.
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines, build systems, cloud-native deployments, and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
• Conduct secure code reviews, threat modeling, and design reviews, partnering with application, infrastructure, platform, security, and compliance teams.
• Build security telemetry for detection, triage, and incident response, and contribute to post-incident reviews.
• Mentor engineers and translate emerging threats into engineering requirements, patterns, and roadmaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience building and owning production systems or in-house applications.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
• Experience with major cloud platforms, managed services, infrastructure-as-code, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of authentication, authorization, OAuth2/OIDC, SSO, RBAC/ABAC, encryption, secrets management, secure coding, and common vulnerabilities.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools, working in Agile environments, and communicating security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• IAM and external identity architecture experience, including federation, multi-tenant identity, and just-in-time provisioning.
• Experience with Databricks, Microsoft or Google cloud ecosystems, CASB technologies, React, or TypeScript.
• Leadership of engineering initiatives that improved security posture, automation, or developer experience.
