Senior Data Protection Specialist

Location: Hybrid role based in Bratislava, Slovakia

Salary: From €3,300 gross per month, plus a performance bonus of up to 15% of the base salary.

What you will do

• Act as the senior subject-matter expert on GDPR, data protection law, privacy governance, and privacy compliance.
• Manage complex privacy projects, including data processing agreements, joint controller agreements, SCCs, TIAs, DPIAs, and governance frameworks.
• Prepare legal analyses and practical, risk-based recommendations on regulatory exposure and compliance strategies.
• Advise business, IT, security, HR, product, and legal stakeholders on privacy by design, data minimization, retention, and breach notification.
• Support supervisory authority interactions, audits, inspections, and potential investigations.
• Monitor EU and international privacy developments and improve internal policies, templates, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

• University degree in Law, such as Mgr., LL.M., or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of post-graduate legal experience, including at least 3 years focused on data protection, privacy law, GDPR compliance, or privacy governance.
• Hands-on experience with GDPR implementation, DPIAs, ROPA, data protection audits, data processing agreements, international transfer mechanisms, and privacy compliance programs.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, international data transfers, privacy governance frameworks, privacy by design, regulatory guidance, and enforcement trends.
• Professional English proficiency at C1 level, including confident work with legal documentation and international stakeholders.
• Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, ownership, integrity, and ability to provide practical business-oriented advice.

Nice to have

• Privacy compliance experience in a technology-driven environment.
• Experience with AI governance.
• Familiarity with international data transfer mechanisms.
