Salary: $133,000 - $183,000 CAD

What you will do

• Develop and iterate on underwriting prediction models using tabular and sequential data approaches.
• Build and scale feature pipelines and training datasets from proprietary and third-party signals.
• Prototype new modeling ideas and drive the best-performing approaches into production.
• Integrate models into batch and real-time decision systems to improve reliability, latency, and robustness.
• Instrument and monitor model and data health, defining retraining and backtesting workflows.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Risk Analytics, and Product teams to evaluate tradeoffs and define requirements.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as an ML engineer or a PhD in a relevant field.
• Strong Python skills and experience writing production-quality code.
• Experience building classification models, specifically GBDTs like LightGBM, XGBoost, or CatBoost.
• Experience with PyTorch and distributed data processing frameworks (Spark preferred).
• Experience with ML lifecycle tooling such as Kubeflow, Airflow, or MLflow.
• Must be residing in one of the listed supported Canadian provinces.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ray or Dask.
• Proficiency in AI-powered developer tools like Claude Code or Cursor.
