Staff/Senior Trading Technology Engineer

Ethena Labs has quickly established itself as a fast-growing, innovative financial products team building digital-asset-native products. The Trading Technology team (3 engineers) owns the trading platform that powers Ethena’s flagship products USDe & sUSDe, focusing on resilient system design, high-quality engineering, and best-in-class execution.

Responsibilities:

- Build a greenfield, next-gen trading platform to enable efficient execution with minimal slippage
- Develop high-performance market data pipelines and integrate with multiple venues (REST/WS, FIX, etc.)
- Collaborate with quant and trading teams to deliver new products, strategies, and execution logic
- Apply modern software practices (TDD/BDD, test automation, CI/CD) to foster software excellence
- Design fault-tolerant architectures and failover mechanisms to ensure high availability

Requirements:

- Proven experience building and supporting trading infrastructure (feed handlers, algo engines, backtests, execution platforms)
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience with TDD/BDD, CI/CD, and SOLID principles
- Deep understanding of financial markets, trading mechanisms, and infrastructure across multiple venues
- Hands-on experience with crypto exchanges and derivatives (perpetuals, deliverable futures)
- Multi-venue trading experience including order routing, trade reconciliation, and execution quality optimization
- Expertise in high-performance system design for low latency and high throughput
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for testing and automation
