Salary: $217,000 - $307,000 per year (Base)

Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and supporting ecosystem for urban mobility at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and design.

What you will do

• Perform Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) by quantifying security-related safety risks and aligning them with safety objectives.
• Conduct security analysis, threat modeling, and risk assessment for a complex ecosystem of custom vehicles and cloud services.
• Translate conceptual security findings into qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
• Analyze existing and emerging cybersecurity standards to create adoption plans with tangible business impact.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to integrate security recommendations within technical constraints.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in CS or related engineering field (software, hardware, systems).
• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
• Deep understanding of vulnerabilities and attacks in both software and cyber-physical domains.
• Track record of analyzing complex systems and delivering impactful, actionable security insights.
• Direct experience with ISO 21434, UNECE R155, NIST CSF, or SOC2 is a significant advantage.

Nice to have

• Experience with automotive SoCs, on-chip security features, and onboard communications (UDS, JTAG, CAN/LIN, I2C, SPI, etc.).
• Familiarity with common cloud deployment architectures and frameworks.
