Principal Software Engineer - Privacy (Cybersecurity)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; the role is based with the Technology Risk & Operations Management team in Plano, TX. What you will do

• Provide expert functional leadership for the creation, execution, and maintenance of privacy technology services.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle for privacy applications, including architecture, coding, testing, deployment, maintenance, and operational support.
• Create and manage performance analytics, KRI/KPI reports, and data imports and exports.
• Partner with privacy, legal, cybersecurity, data governance, and technology teams to convert business and regulatory requirements into scalable technology solutions.
• Evaluate and implement technologies and automation that improve the efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of privacy program operations.
• Act as a strategic partner to managers, executive leaders, and the Technology Risk & Operations Management team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience leading work in agile development environments, including hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or four additional years of relevant software development or privacy-focused professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience providing strategic consultative services to management and executive leaders, or leading projects and programs focused on long-term objectives.
• Expert knowledge of North American privacy laws and regulations, with significant industry and department knowledge.
• Expertise in agile development practices and understanding of multiple programming languages, such as Java, Python, NodeJS, and AngularJS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages for management and executive leaders and present clearly and concisely.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Experience with Agile and/or hirify.global Production System frameworks.
• Agile, Scrum, Lean, or related certifications.
• Security certifications such as CISM, CISA, CISSP, CIA, CIPM, CIPP, CCSP, CC, or CIPT.
