What you will do

• Provide policy, regulatory, compliance, and enforcement analysis for HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Develop recommendations to improve program quality, efficiency, coordination, and workstream consolidation.
• Advise OCR leadership on policy implementation and compliance and enforcement procedures.
• Research and analyze cases, conduct compliance reviews, and support nationwide mission objectives.
• Coordinate intra- and inter-agency mission activities with government officials and external stakeholders.
• Interface with federal and state agencies, regulated entities, complainants, advocacy groups, covered entities, and business associates.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a comparable field, plus three years of specialized cybersecurity experience equivalent to the GS-13/14 level; alternatively, at least four years of equivalent specialized experience may qualify.
• Expert understanding of HIPAA policies and the public health or healthcare system.
• Ability to obtain and retain Public Trust Level II clearance.
• Strong analytical, communication, research, and writing skills.
• Ability to balance competing priorities and work effectively in a high-visibility, fast-paced environment.
