TL;DR
Senior Project Acquisition Analyst (DoD Acquisition/Contracting): Advising defense industrial base leaders on acquisition strategies, contracting approaches, and project execution from concept development through sustainment with an accent on FAR/DFARS compliance, Other Transaction authority, funding execution, and industrial partnerships. Focus on structuring complex public-private investments, translating acquisition risks for senior stakeholders, and improving high-priority program delivery.
Location: Arlington or Alexandria, Virginia, or telework within the National Capital Region. An active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance are required. The position is contingent upon contract award.
Salary: $119,000–$172,000 USD annually

What you will do
- Advise government leadership on acquisition strategies from pre-award planning through execution and sustainment.
- Recommend contract types, acquisition approaches, incentives, procurement strategies, and contract vehicles.
- Review project concepts, acquisition documentation, contract packages, modifications, and scope expansions.
- Coordinate with contracting organizations, government stakeholders, potential offerors, and industry partners.
- Support acquisition documentation, funding transfers, spend plans, briefings, and executive communications.
- Monitor acquisition activities and recommend improvements to program execution, schedule, and performance.
Requirements
- Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent extensive related experience, including military service.
- 10 or more years of experience in DoD acquisition, contracting, or defense industrial base programs.
- Expertise in the Defense Acquisition System and DoD Instruction 5000 series guidance.
- Experience with FAR, DFARS, Other Transaction authority, Cooperative Agreements, PPBE, and Defense Production Act Title III funding.
- Strong communication, prioritization, and Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense or senior headquarters staff.
- Experience advising Senior Executive Service members, Flag Officers, or General Officers.
- Systems engineering experience applied to technical or acquisition challenges.
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing, microelectronics, batteries, critical materials, or other defense industrial base sectors.
- PMP, DAWIA Advanced Certification, or an equivalent professional certification.
