What you will do

• Own the operational health of sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening processes and serve as the primary contact for vendor performance and internal escalations.
• Conduct complex alert reviews, PEP and high-risk investigations, adverse media assessments, and sensitive case escalations.
• Review vendor decisions, challenge screening outcomes, and maintain accountability for quality, consistency, and service levels.
• Identify process friction and implement improvements with vendor, Product, and Tech teams, including AI and automation solutions.
• Maintain SOPs, track SLA performance, support sanctions-related actions, and prepare documentation for audits and regulatory examinations.
• Train team members on screening processes, tools, and escalation frameworks.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in sanctions screening, PEP investigations, or adverse media investigations within fintech or banking.
• Experience across at least two screening disciplines: sanctions, PEP, and adverse media.
• Strong knowledge of EU, UN, and UK sanctions regimes, AML/CTF requirements, and customer lifecycle risk frameworks.
• Experience driving process improvements and adopting AI-assisted tools or automation in compliance or operations.
• Familiarity with World-Check, LexisNexis, Fircosoft, or equivalent screening and case management tools, including name-matching methodology.
• Strong analytical, written communication, documentation, escalation, and decision-making skills, with the ability to support audits or regulatory examinations.

Nice to have

• CAMS, CGSS, ICA, or an equivalent relevant certification.
• Additional experience supporting audits or regulatory examinations.
