Business Controller (Finance)

TL;DR

Business Controller (Finance): Managing accounting operations, budgets, forecasts, reporting, and financial controls for an assigned business unit or customer with an accent on financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Focus on coordinating month-end and year-end close, improving control processes, managing cash flow, and supporting the CFO with complex financial reporting.

Location: Noordwijk, Netherlands. Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU. The position is available on a part-time or full-time basis with a minimum commitment of 32 hours per week.

What you will do

• Manage billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, fixed assets accounting, and revenue recognition in Visma.net.
• Coordinate budgets and financial forecasts, report variances, and prepare monthly financial statements and operational reports.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting, revenue entries, tax filings, and other government reporting requirements.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and maintain quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Manage daily cash flow and ensure timely invoicing and appropriate debtor positions.
• Assist the CFO with process improvements, compliance audits, and internal control monitoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business economics or accountancy.
• At least 3 years of relevant financial work experience.
• Experience with IT systems and data analytics, with strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Strong planning, organization, communication, collaboration, solution-oriented, and result-oriented skills.
• Fluent English and Dutch, written and spoken.
• Eligibility to work in the EU.
