What you will do
- Research, design, and evaluate complex perception, motion planning, and decision-making algorithms using machine learning.
- Create experiments and prototype new learning algorithms and prediction techniques.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to drive scalable, real-time implementations.
- Work with hardware engineering teams to develop systems from prototyping to production.
- Represent the company in the academic community through scientific presentations and publications.
- Iterate on system design with stakeholders across hardware, science, and operations.
Requirements
- PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency in Java, C++, Python, or related languages.
- Experience in state-of-the-art scene understanding, computer vision, or robotic manipulation/motion planning.
- Proven track record of delivering customer-facing results in robotics.
- Experience as a technical lead for interdisciplinary teams in CV and robotic manipulation.
- Experience publishing at major robotics conferences (e.g., RSS, NIPS, ICRA, CVPR, CORL, ICCV) or journals.
Nice to have
- Experience with large-scale data collection, large vision models, or transformers in robotic products.
- Knowledge of sensor selection and diverse systems architectures (real-time, embedded, distributed).
- Experience with physics engines and sim-to-real algorithm transfer.
- Experience developing and maintaining software architectures for robotic systems.
- Ability to incubate technology from idea generation through large-scale deployment.
