Senior Software Developer (Apache Flink)

What you will do

• Drive complex engineering projects end-to-end, from design to production, within the Autopilot domain.
• Develop deep expertise in autoscaling logic, resource management, and job/task manager resilience.
• Design and build highly scalable, fault-tolerant systems and document architectural proposals.
• Improve platform stability and performance while participating in the on-call rotation.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns and contribute to the hiring process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on technical direction.

Requirements

• 6-8+ years of experience in stream processing or large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Scala.
• Hands-on experience operating mission-critical systems in public clouds (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and a track record of shipping complex systems.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Must be based in Germany

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes and production-grade distributed applications.
• Impactful contributions to open-source projects, especially Apache Flink.
• Experience with Go in a cloud control-plane context.
