Data Architect (Audit Readiness)

What you will do

• Coordinate technical stewardship for shared datasets and systems supporting financial systems, recordkeeping, reporting, and audit processes.
• Improve governance and change-management practices for upstream schemas and business logic affecting downstream systems.
• Build and maintain reusable audit-ready datasets with automated validation, data quality checks, and monitoring.
• Develop ETL pipelines, dashboards, and data architecture that support data-driven audit testing.
• Assess operational pain points and downstream impacts, then propose process reengineering and long-term improvements.
• Provide technical guidance to business stakeholders and Audit project managers on audit requests.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data analytics or data engineering, ideally in fintech, payments, financial markets, crypto, audit, risk, or SOX compliance.
• Experience designing and managing data architecture and production pipelines in regulated environments with governance, traceability, and auditability built in.
• Hands-on experience with dbt and Airflow or equivalent orchestration tools.
• Advanced SQL, including complex joins, CTEs, and analytical functions, plus strong Python proficiency.
• Experience documenting metadata, KPI definitions, business rules, process flows, data dictionaries, and technical requirements.
• Experience with production ETL scheduling, exception handling, troubleshooting, schema changes, and downstream impact analysis.

Nice to have

• Experience building or scaling a data analytics function within an audit or risk organization.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted or automation tools for data quality, testing, or workflow efficiency.
• Experience with audit management platforms such as AuditBoard, Jira, or Workiva.
