Senior Associate Scientist (Analytical R&D)

Senior Associate Scientist (Analytical R&D): Developing and applying analytical methods for monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, synthetic peptides, and other biological modalities with an accent on method validation, characterization, and compliant laboratory documentation. Focus on conducting complex chromatographic and spectroscopic analyses, supporting biotherapeutic development, and solving analytical challenges under GLP/GMP requirements.

Location: Onsite in Andover, Massachusetts, United States. Candidates must have permanent U.S. work authorization. U.S. visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $68,600–$114,300 annual base salary, plus a target bonus of 7.5%.

What you will do

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of compounds, biologics, and complex formulations.
• Develop, validate, qualify, and transfer analytical methods for small molecules and biological therapeutics.
• Characterize monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, synthetic peptides, and other modalities.
• Maintain experimental records and technical reports in compliance with GLP, GMP, and departmental SOPs.
• Maintain laboratory instruments and improve safe, effective laboratory practices.
• Present data, contribute to project teams, prioritize deliverables, and support project deadlines.

Requirements

• BA/BS with at least 3 years of experience, or MBA/MS with any level of experience.
• Experience with analytical method validation and spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail, including recording experimental data and conclusions.
• Solid understanding of organic chemistry, functional groups, and compound characterization.
• Ability to interpret scientific literature and support cGMP investigations.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in a cGMP or GLP laboratory.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical or production software and GxP requirements.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and communicating with peers and leaders.
• Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot responsibly.
