Security Controls Assessor (Cybersecurity): Conducting comprehensive security control assessments and vulnerability evaluations for AFCENT information systems and software applications with an accent on DoD compliance, RMF implementation, and security authorization artifacts. Focus on validating technical, operational, and management controls, analyzing vulnerabilities, preparing risk documentation, and developing corrective actions for secure mission operations.

Location: Onsite at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina, USA, with physical travel to contractor and Government sites inside and outside the continental United States.

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Perform initial and continuous security control assessments and validation for AFCENT networks, systems, and software applications.
• Use DoD-approved tools including ACAS, Nessus, HBSS, CMRS, OCRS, and SolarWinds to produce monitoring and assessment reports.
• Evaluate threats, vulnerabilities, control effectiveness, and the potential security impact of system changes.
• Prepare assessment findings, Security Assessment Reports, risk analyses, and recommendations for authorization decisions.
• Support security authorization packages containing the SSP, SAR, POA&M, and RAR.
• Provide guidance to other assessors and recommend improvements to cybersecurity policies, processes, and training.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance must be possessed and maintained.
• IAT-III or IAM-III certification is required.
• For senior-level qualifications: a related MA/MS with 3 or more years of relevant experience, a related BS with 5 or more years of relevant IT experience, or 7 or more years of relevant IT experience.
• For mid-level or lower qualifications: a related BS with 1 or more years of relevant experience, an associate degree with 3 or more years of relevant IT experience, or 5 or more years of relevant IT experience.
• Onsite work at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina, and travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations are required.
