TL;DR
Java Developer (eMobility): Building and maintaining scalable Java applications and microservices for eRoaming, electric vehicle charging, and international automotive services with an accent on backend architecture, reliability, and secure delivery. Focus on designing cloud-native systems, solving production and performance challenges, and ensuring operational stability through monitoring, testing, and incident response.
Location: Hybrid in Berlin, Germany, with 2 days per week in the office and 3 days remote. Office location: EUREF Campus in Schöneberg.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain robust Java applications and microservices for the automotive and eMobility sector.
- Own features and components from technical design through implementation and delivery.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture decisions, and technical design discussions.
- Improve system reliability and performance through monitoring, optimization, updates, and security patches.
- Respond to production incidents, troubleshoot issues, and conduct root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with product and business stakeholders in an international, cross-functional environment.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional experience in Java development and complex, scalable software systems.
- Strong knowledge of Java, Spring or Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, relational databases, and microservice architectures.
- Experience with AWS cloud services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
- Hands-on experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, including JUnit and Mockito, plus CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of secure coding, OWASP, authentication, authorization, and data protection.
- Fluent English is required.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of eMobility protocols such as OCPI, OCPP, or OICP.
- Experience working in international, cross-functional, or matrix organizations.
