What you will do
- Build and maintain hardware-in-the-loop test environments for functional safety hardware and embedded components.
- Engineer test fixtures, laboratory benches, and infrastructure that emulate complex robotic behaviors.
- Develop Python automation tools and embedded software for specialized test hardware.
- Use Raspberry Pi, microcontrollers, and IoT platforms to generate realistic system interfaces and stimuli.
- Perform black-box validation, fault injection, and resilience analysis for safety computers.
- Collaborate with firmware and hardware engineers to investigate failures, improve test coverage, and scale automated validation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in embedded systems, test engineering, robotics, mechatronics, or a similar hands-on technical field.
- Strong practical skills across hardware and software, including wiring systems, building fixtures, and writing automation code.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with embedded software or firmware for internal tools and test systems.
- Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi, microcontrollers, IoT devices, or similar prototyping platforms.
- Experience debugging integrated systems at the bench with laboratory equipment.
- Ability to work on-site in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.
