Molecular Genetic Technologist II (Genomics)

Location: On-site in Houston, Texas, USA
Schedule: Saturday–Wednesday, 3:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m.

What you will do

• Conduct high-complexity molecular and clinical genetic tests.
• Perform testing in accordance with CAP, New York, and CLIA regulations.
• Troubleshoot assay performance and operate and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Perform quality-control checks and promptly report deviations.
• Manage laboratory stock levels and replenish supplies.
• Support training for new employees as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology, with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively, a master’s degree with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of NGS, LIMS, library preparation, sequencing QC, instrument operation, run setup, contamination control, batch processing, data QC, and assay troubleshooting.
• Ability to follow laboratory safety procedures and work around potential bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
• Strong precision, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and commitment to quality.

Nice to have

• MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP) certification.
