Machine Learning Engineer, Assistant Quality (AI)

Location: Hybrid (4 days a week in San Francisco office)

Salary: $180,000 - $205,000

What you will do

• Build and improve ML and LLM-powered systems to enhance AI Assistant and autonomous agent quality.
• Design evaluation, benchmarking, and monitoring loops to measure model and end-to-end system performance.
• Iterate on signals, prompts, and model-driven logic to improve reasoning, planning, and personalization.
• Implement RAG, semantic search, and reinforcement learning to materially improve product outcomes.
• Partner with product and design teams to ship high-quality production systems quickly.
• Contribute to data and ML infrastructure for robust experimentation and continuous model improvement.

Requirements

• 2+ years of industry experience in machine learning, applied AI, or software engineering with ML ownership.
• Strong hands-on coding ability and a track record of shipping production systems.
• Experience in LLM applications, NLP, search, retrieval, evaluation frameworks, or agent systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or C++.
• Must be based in or be able to work from the San Francisco office (Hybrid, 4 days/week).
