Senior Backend Engineer (Go)

Location: Remote, UK

Salary: £110,000 - £120,000 per annum

What you will do

• Build mission-critical, data-driven services that power core parts of the platform.
• Take ownership of the full development lifecycle, from system design and implementation to optimisation and release.
• Collaborate closely with product and infrastructure teams to ship well-architected, scalable microservices.
• Contribute to technical decisions, stand-ups, and architectural improvements.
• Ensure high engineering quality and maintain clean, scalable systems.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience in software development with a strong focus on backend systems.
• Proficiency in Go/Golang (preferred), or strong experience in Python/Java with a willingness to transition to Go.
• Proven expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Experience with end-to-end software engineering, including system design and architecture.
• Hands-on experience with complex, data-intensive applications.
• Must be based in the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, Cassandra, gRPC, and microservices architecture.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects.
• A product-focused mindset and familiarity with start-ups or technology-driven organisations.
