Salary: £3,452.05–£3,861.91 monthly (after tax).

What you will do

• Develop and maintain software for the discovery and analysis of biodata resources.
• Manage software repositories and cloud deployment environments.
• Maintain and refresh the GBC Global Inventory of biodata resources.
• Perform usage and citation network analysis on global biodata infrastructure.
• Conduct text mining of scholarly literature to extract resource information.
• Communicate analytical findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in software engineering, informatics, computer science, or life science with strong computational components.
• Strong Python skills for data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
• Strong SQL skills for querying relational databases.
• Experience with workflow tools like Nextflow and cloud platforms (Google Cloud).
• Experience applying machine learning methods to text classification or information extraction.
• Ability to design reproducible data pipelines and maintain technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Postgraduate qualification in informatics or life science.
• Experience with bioinformatics data analysis and biodata resource ecosystems.
• Familiarity with Jupyter notebooks, dashboarding tools, and bibliometrics.
