What you will do

• Lead roadway design efforts and serve as the technical lead for the Draper office, setting standards and best practices.
• Oversee advanced design tasks including horizontal/vertical alignments, corridor and interchange geometrics, and traffic control plans.
• Provide technical oversight and QA/QC for plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers to grow design capabilities and project ownership.
• Partner with project managers on scoping, budgeting, and delivery strategy while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Interface with clients such as UDOT, municipalities, and counties as a trusted technical advisor.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in roadway or transportation engineering.
• Proven experience leading roadway design teams or groups.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (Utah preferred or obtainable via reciprocity).
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO, UDOT, and local agency roadway design standards.
• Advanced proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads.

Nice to have

• Experience working with UDOT and local Utah agencies.
• Background in supporting or leading design-build pursuits and delivery.
• PMP certification or experience managing scope and schedule.
• Experience building or growing a local design team.
