Systems Engineer, Platform Requirements and Verification (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Must be based in the US or Canada (Remote or Hybrid in Toronto, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, or Dallas)

Salary: $140,000 - $190,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Own the creation, documentation, alignment, and verification of vehicle platform requirements.
• Design architectures for sensors, compute, and actuators to ensure a safe and efficient autonomous vehicle platform.
• Act as the central point of contact for platform requirements and coordinate updates with stakeholders.
• Implement and drive safety culture using standards such as ISO 26262, SOTIF, and UL 4600.
• Define and develop improvements for the high-fidelity simulator to verify platform aspects.
• Write and track tests and executions in alignment with project milestones.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in engineering (Masters or PhD preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in the automotive, robotics, or aerospace industries.
• Experience with requirements specifications, metrics, and complex vehicle test campaigns.
• Knowledge of safety standards: ISO 26262, SOTIF (ISO 21448), and/or UL 4600.
• Strong fundamentals in mathematics, physics, and basic vehicle dynamics.
• Proficiency in data analysis using tools like Python or Matlab.
• Must be based in the US or Canada.

• Experience launching a driverless product.
• Experience leading small teams of systems engineers.
• Background in building software systems from scratch.
• Experience in robotics or machine learning.
• Proficiency in data mining and statistical analysis.
