What you will do
- Evaluate and optimize software development practices for FSL users to ensure project success.
- Participate in planning and major development of software for flight software, guidance, navigation, and analysis.
- Collaborate with partners and external contractors to meet software requirements and resolve bugs.
- Act as a mentor for software engineering best practices within High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
- Help users maximize the utility of cluster tools and workflows in support of NASA human spaceflight missions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of related software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (compiled and interpreted) and build systems like GNU Make.
- Demonstrated experience with Git, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Daily experience working in Linux OS via command line interface (CLI).
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Monte Carlo workflows and MPI-based workflows optimized for HPC.
- Knowledge of Trick-based simulation workflows and related toolsets.
- Experience with Podman, GitLab, and Jenkins in HPC environments.
- Knowledge of TDD, Agile, and generative AI coding assistants.
- Active participation in the open-source software community.
