What you will do

• Design and build Drupal 11 backend features and custom modules focused on performance and security.
• Extend and upgrade DKAN-based data portals, including dataset schemas and metadata workflows.
• Architect and integrate APIs to expose CMS healthcare data to the public.
• Manage configuration-as-code and maintain Docker-based sandbox environments.
• Write unit, integration, and behavioral tests using PHPUnit and Cypress.
• Mentor peers and lead stakeholder alignment within cross-functional Agile teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in Drupal 10–11 core, contributed APIs, and custom module development.
• Strong proficiency in PHP (OOP) and SQL optimization.
• Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• U.S. residency for at least 3 of the last 5 years and ability to pass a federal background check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with the DKAN distribution.
• Knowledge of healthcare data standards like HL7 FHIR or C-CDA.
• Experience with large-scale data ingestion and ETL pipelines.
• Familiarity with Varnish, Akamai CDN, and Section 508/WCAG accessibility.
