What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend systems using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and portal systems for payment processing platforms.
• Translate merchant and partner needs into high-quality technical solutions.
• Improve development processes through automation and simplification.
• Collaborate on estimation, planning, and proactive issue resolution.
• Support deployments to internal environments and production systems.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a Software Engineering role.
• Proven production experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and MVC architecture.
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), including schema design and query optimisation.
• Experience writing automated tests using RSpec, Minitest, or similar.
• Must be based in the UK or Ireland.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript and React.
